A natural partnership
Houens Odde Scout Centre is part of the Lillebælt Nature Park partner program.
At Houens Odde, we have been engaged in communicating and educating about the nature for many years, and with our location right outside Kolding Fjord, we are quite centrally located in the Little Belt area. Therefore, it was only natural for us to become official partners.
Before the official entry as a partner, Houens Oddde had a collaboration with the Nature Park regarding the development of activities. Together we have created the Lillebælt Nature Park Scout Badge, which is a series of activities with a focus on nature in and around the Little Belt, which scouts and other interested parties can carry out – and subsequently receive a scout badge as proof of having completed the activities.
To care for nature, we must know it
Naturpark Lillebælt’s purpose and vision that we “together create a sea of experiences that make us want to look after and improve the Lillebælt” – fits incredibly well with the scouts’ desire to leave the world a little bit better than we found it.
At the same time, nature education and nature experiences for both children, young people and adults are a completely natural part of Scouting – and an absolutely essential part of Houens Odde Scout Centre.
At Houens Odde, we want to give our many thousands of annual visitors from home and abroad a good knowledge of the Lillebælt marine nature park, of life in the belt and of the surrounding nature. We do this through exciting scouting activities and committed nature communication.
Schools and institutions also benefit from the nature activities that it is possible to immerse yourself in at Houens Odde. In this way, we spread nature education to more than the scouts.
For many years, Houens Odde has also actively used the fjord for sailing in both megin-boats, kayaks, canoes and on a large raft. In combination with this, children, young people and adults are also introduced to the fantastic nature that Lillebælt hides.
